We currently have a full time opening for a Lab Engineer in our Vista, California headquarters.
While working and participating within a team environment, the Lab Engineer is primarily responsible for assisting the design and test engineers with their research and development of water chlorination systems, pressure and filtration pumps, filters, valves, and controls; Analyze data generated from experiments; Report results of experiments; Advise of the product development implications arising from the results. Organization culture demands employees to be result driven. The Lab Engineer is also responsible for ensuring that all company safety guidelines are met. This position reports to the Lab Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Set up and conduct various tests as specified by the Project Engineers and Test Engineers. 40%
+ Interpret and apply test methods from test plans, qualification specifications, and compliance standards. 20%
+ Analyze data generated from experiments; Report results of experiments; Advise of the product development implications arising from the results. 20%
+ Build and/or modify product prototypes. 10%
+ Maintain the engineering labs including parts inventory, data acquisition equipment, and various lab grade instruments and their calibration. 10%
EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
+ Bachelor?s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Electronic Engineering from an accredited institution.
+ Conduct experiments by following procedures and product compliance standards.
+ Have experience using a variety of lab test and analysis equipment including, but not limited to, voltage, power, flow and temperature-measuring equipment, spectrophotometers, and colorimeters.
+ Experience with Lab View automated data acquisition application and associated equipment.
+ Extensive experience in using hand tools to assemble, plumb, weld and repair various systems.
+ Exceptional observation, communication and troubleshooting skills.
+ Experience with electrical and mechanical trouble shooting of appliances.
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office products and Windows environments.
+ Read, write and communicate fluently and clearly in English.
+ Strong shop-math skills, with an emphasis in algebra, required to perform the necessary calculations to perform engineering tests and conduct mechanical inspection of various components (sheet metal, plastic, electrical etc.).
+ General knowledge of the basic theories, practices and procedures of fluid mechanics.
+ Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
